Working within a large food processing plant, our brief was to breakup existing road areas and relay concrete surfaces systematically so that HGV’s could continue operations around the plant.

It was evident that existing roads were crumbling and becoming unsafe, exaggerated by the use of heavily loaded lorries that would exceed UK road standards, accelerating “normal” damage caused by such vehicles. An agreed safe system of work was set in place, and excavations begun.

An upgraded subgrade and improved concrete road slab was installed to ensure longevity of the finished product. Works continued unabated throughout the winter months, carefully planning to avoid & protect successfully against the coldest weathers for concreting operations maintaining the programme for the end user.
